Nobody 2

Following the sleeper success of Nobody (2021), Nobody 2: Nobody’s War brings back Bob Odenkirk as Hutch Mansell, the former government assassin who proved in the first film that "being underestimated" is his greatest weapon. In this sequel, the stakes are higher, the enemies deadlier, and Hutch is more dangerous than ever.

Set a year after the explosive events of the original, Nobody 2 finds Hutch living a new, off-the-grid life with his wife Becca (Connie Nielsen) and their children—who now understand there’s much more to Dad than meets the eye. But peace is short-lived. When an international arms syndicate, known as The Crucible, begins targeting members of Hutch’s former black-ops division, he is dragged back into the shadows for one final mission.

Teaming up with his father David (Christopher Lloyd, still stealing scenes with gleeful chaos) and half-brother Harry (RZA), Hutch must track down the mastermind behind The Crucible—a former operative thought to be long dead, now running a private army and holding a grudge.

The sequel doubles down on the raw, up-close violence that made Nobody such a cult hit. Director Ilya Naishuller returns with more inventive action choreography, this time expanding beyond home invasions to larger-scale set pieces: a fight aboard a speeding train, a snowy ambush in the Russian wilderness, and a final siege on a fortified weapons compound.

But Nobody 2 isn’t just bigger—it’s smarter. The film explores Hutch’s internal battle between who he was and who he wants to be. His relationship with Becca is more central this time, as she is no longer in the dark, and begins to embrace the chaotic man she married.

Odenkirk once again blends weary charm with ruthless efficiency. His Hutch is more reflective, more human—but still terrifying when provoked. The sequel also teases more from the mysterious “agency” that Hutch used to work for, possibly setting up a larger universe of assassins, fixers, and ghosts from the Cold War era.

Nobody 2: Nobody’s War is a worthy, adrenaline-charged continuation of the original. It expands Hutch’s world without losing the lean, brutal appeal that made the first film a surprise hit. Equal parts catharsis and carnage, it proves that even in a world full of killers—nobody does it quite like him.
