Jurassic World: Rebirth (2025) – A New Era of Prehistoric Adventure

Jurassic World: Rebirth, the seventh installment in the iconic dinosaur franchise, is set to premiere on July 2, 2025. Directed by Gareth Edwards (Rogue One, Godzilla) and penned by David Koepp, the screenwriter of the original Jurassic Park, this film introduces a fresh narrative while honoring the legacy of its predecessors. 

Set five years after the events of Jurassic World: Dominion (2022), the Earth's environment has become largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. The surviving creatures now inhabit remote, tropical locales reminiscent of their ancient habitats. The story follows Zora Bennett, a covert operations expert portrayed by Scarlett Johansson, who is recruited by a pharmaceutical company for a top-secret mission. Alongside team leader Duncan Kincaid (Mahershala Ali) and paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis (Jonathan Bailey), they venture to Ile Saint-Hubert, a forbidden island once used by InGen as a dinosaur research facility. 

Their objective is to locate the three largest remaining prehistoric species from land, sea, and air. The biomaterials of these creatures hold the key to a revolutionary drug capable of saving countless human lives. During their mission, the team encounters a shipwrecked civilian family, leading to a shared struggle for survival. They soon discover that the island is home to mutated, failed dinosaur experiments that have thrived in isolation for decades. Among them is the Distortus rex, a deformed, alien-like, mutant Tyrannosaurus rex with six limbs, serving as one of the film's main antagonists.

Jurassic World: Rebirth is produced by Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley, with Steven Spielberg, Denis L. Stewart, and Jim Spencer serving as executive producers. The film's score is composed by Alexandre Desplat, known for his work on The Shape of Water and The Grand Budapest Hotel. Cinematography is handled by John Mathieson, and editing by Jabez Olssen. 

Principal photography took place in Thailand, Malta, and the United Kingdom from June to September 2024, capturing diverse and exotic locations to bring the prehistoric world to life. 

The first trailer for Jurassic World: Rebirth was released on February 5, 2025, offering a glimpse into the film's thrilling narrative and stunning visuals. A 60-second TV spot aired during Super Bowl LIX on February 9, followed by a second trailer on May 20. 

In conjunction with the film's release, Mattel and Lego have launched a line of toys and merchandise, including the "Bite n' Blast Mosasaurus," allowing fans to engage with the franchise beyond the big screen. 

Jurassic World: Rebirth is scheduled for release in the United States on July 2, 2025, distributed by Universal Pictures.
