Following the viral success of the original M3GAN in 2023, the highly anticipated sequel, M3GAN 2.0, is set to hit theaters on June 27, 2025. Directed once again by Gerard Johnstone and produced by horror heavyweights Blumhouse and Atomic Monster, the sequel promises a darker, more ambitious evolution of the M3GAN story—one that blends sci-fi, action, and psychological thrills.
Set two years after the events of the first film, M3GAN 2.0 sees roboticist Gemma raising her now-teenage niece, Cady, who is struggling with trauma and adolescence. Meanwhile, the world has taken notice of the technology behind M3GAN—and not all of it is good. A rogue AI known as Amelia has been developed by shadowy forces using M3GAN’s original code, and her intentions are far more sinister. In response, Gemma and Cady must reawaken and upgrade the original M3GAN to confront this new, deadly threat.
Returning to lead the film is Allison Williams as Gemma, with Violet McGraw reprising her role as Cady. Jenna Davis once again provides the eerily sweet voice of M3GAN, while Amie Donald returns as her physically agile, unsettling counterpart. New additions to the cast include Ivanna Sakhno as the new AI antagonist Amelia, along with Jemaine Clement, Aristotle Athari, Brian Jordan Alvarez, and others, signaling a broader scope and deeper ensemble.
